Today was one of those “oh no… but also awwww” kind of moments. 😅
Lily, our sweet little monkey with the softest eyes and the gentlest heart, was happily lounging on a tree branch, swinging her tiny feet and enjoying the breeze. She was completely in her own peaceful world — until Mollie showed up. 😏
Now if you know Mollie, you know she’s got the energy of 100 monkeys packed into one. She’s playful, wild, and always up to something. And today… well, she decided it was time for a little tree-trick.
Mollie jumped onto the branch Lily was sitting on, and before Lily could even say “what’s happening?!” — BOOP! She bumped her just hard enough that Lily lost her balance and slipped right off!
Don’t worry — Lily is totally okay! 🥺 She fell into a soft patch of grass and rolled like a fuzzy little ball. But the look on her face? Pure betrayal. 😳😂
She sat there with her hands on her head like,
“Did my best friend really just do that to me!?”
But here’s where the real magic happened.
The moment Mollie realized Lily was actually startled and sad… everything changed.
She climbed down SO fast, ran straight to Lily, and started gently grooming her face like she was saying:
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you! Are you okay?! I still love you!” 🥹❤️
Lily, being the sweetheart she is, didn’t hold a grudge.
She let Mollie hug her.
And in just a few minutes, the two were cuddled up under the tree, sharing snacks like nothing had ever happened.
This is what friendship looks like.
It’s messy. It’s wild. It has falls (literally 😂)…
But it’s also full of forgiveness, hugs, and healing.
Watching these two reminds me every day that animals have deep emotions too. They feel joy, fear, regret, and love — just like we do.
